the METZ Family Reunion Blog

63 Metz family members attended the first Metz Family Reunion at the YMCA Camp of the Rockies. It was a great success, and family members indicated they'd like to have another reunion in three years. Thanks go to Anthony and Diane Metz for the overall planning and organization of the reunion, and thanks also go to Jerry and Gwen Neff for assisting as the on-the-scene functionaries. Gwen and Jerry also solicited, organized and published information and photos about the families. They did an outstanding job. Both families put out a lot of effort during the reunion for the reception and to remedy problems and ensure everyone's needs were met. Also, thanks go to the others who organized activities...Mike Alfieri's hikes, Kathy Trenolone's historical photo display, Stephanie O'Keefe's Official Reunion Shirts.

This blog was created as a place to talk about the reunion and to exhibit your pictures. You are encouraged to do just that.

The other reason for creating the blog was to toss about ideas to plan the next reunion. Since many of the attendees were from the midwest, and because Madison, WI, was sort of the focal point or the Metzes in the midwest, I'd like to suggest that we explore the YMCA camps in Wisconsin as a site for the next reunion. The convenience, activities and facilities of the YMCA were excellent and affordable. That's why I'm suggesting we at least consider using the Y's facilities again.

PS...if you've not visited my Prairie Breeze Graphics website at http://prairiebreezegraphics.com, please do. I've recently added a "Nebraska Wetland Birds" card set, a "Pink Roses" card set and matted or matted and framed prints. Also there is now an order form you can download. Sorry about the commercial, but that's what entrepreneurs are supposed to do.

To everyone, thanks for a great time. It was so good to see all of you. This should help us to keep in touch. To the older ones - you all looked good. We are aging well. To the young ones , you are all beautiful and have accepted your responsibilities graciously. To the babes, how wonderful to see the new generation.
